Set Up an Agentic Data Tracker
Use an AI research assistant to monitor for new data, collect it and notify you
Last updated: 20 October 2025
Objective:
Set up an automatic data tracker that runs 24 hours / 7 days for a year to collect financial data as it arrives. Save yourself time and get the data you need automatically.
Explanation:
Few people are aware that you can, with just a prompt, set up a data collection agent to collate financial data for you from company reports or other repetitive sources. This prompt sets up just such an agent. Specify the company(s) and metric(s) you want tracked, the agent assesses the release schedule over the next 12 months, enacts a planned collection workflow and sets it in motion. After you run the prompt you can enable notifications from ChatGPT in your browser such that any new updates will be flagged to you.
Anytime you wish to review the tabulated data, you simply refer back to the chat set up for each task.
As always, be aware that models can make mistakes. At each step, examine the response and challenge information or conclusions that appear erroneous before proceeding to any subsequent steps. If in doubt use a second model with the same prompt to verify the information and generate challenge questions and answers (CoVe process) to correct interpretations of data.

Important Execution Notes:
Insert under “User Specified Inputs”, the companies and metrics you want tracked and collected.
Set the prompt in motion and rename it on the left sidebar so its something recognizable as you will be referring back to that chat over the next 12 months as updates roll in.
Good practice is to set up a folder for Data Trackers and move each chat with a new agent into that folder for ease of reference.
After running the prompt, look out for the dialogue box that enables notifications in the browser when updates have arrived.
Sample Output:
